This Memorial Day weekend, Wine & Food Festival Cancun – Riviera Maya is partnering with Banyan Tree Mayakoba for its inaugural event “A Taste of New York at Mayakoba”, highlighting the culinary expertise of Manhattan-based chefs such as Bryce Shuman, alongside Banyan Tree’s Executive Chef Alfonso de la Dehesa. New York meets Riviera Maya to provide a distinct gastronomic experience for a memorable, food-inspired weekend.
On Friday, May 24 at Banyan Tree’s Oriente restaurant, Chef Bryce Shuman will cook alongside Chef Alfonso de la Dehesa for a night of unique ingredients surrounded by the resort’s serene lagoon and natural setting.
Chef Shuman began his career with Wolfgang Puck before becoming chef de cuisine at the three Michelin Star restaurant Eleven Madison Park under the helm of Chef Daniel Humm. He branched off to begin his own venture with the opening of Betony, which was awarded one Michelin Star and a Three-Star review by The New York Times, and also earned the title of Best New Chef in 2015 by FOOD & WINE.
Banyan Tree Mayakoba is a AAA Five Diamond luxury resort that blends Asian hospitality with the idyllic passion of Mexico, featuring 123 private villas with outdoor bathtubs, the only all-pool villa resort in the Riviera Maya. The resort offers the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa, two outdoor pools, six gourmet restaurants including Banyan Tree’s signature Thai restaurant Saffron, and one of a kind destination dining experiences.
This exquisite dinner will provide an exclusive setting for up to 90 guests, composed of a five-course menu, each paired with exceptional wines and spirits. The dinner will be preceded by a welcome cocktail where mixologists will prepare a variety of unique drinks with signature appetizers to delight guests.
