This Memorial Day weekend, Wine & Food Festival Cancun – Riviera Maya is partnering with Rosewood Mayakoba for its inaugural event “A Taste of New York at Mayakoba”, highlighting the culinary expertise of Manhattan-based chefs such as PJ Calapa, alongside Rosewood’s Director of Culinary Operations Juan Pablo Loza. New York meets Riviera Maya to provide a distinct gastronomic experience for a memorable, food-inspired weekend.

On Saturday, May 25, Rosewood Mayakoba will welcome Chef PJ Calapa, owner of the Southern Italian inspired Scampi in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, for a memorable culinary evening at Casa del Lago, featuring Italian inspired fare combined with Mexican flavors.  Honing his skills at some of the top New York restaurants including Bouley in TriBeca, Eleven Madison Park and Nobu 57, Calapa joined Chef Michael White’s Altamarea Group to help launch Ai Fiori, which earned him a 2013 Star Chefs Rising Stars Award, a three-star review from The New York Timesand a Michelin Star.

Rosewood Mayakoba is an ultra-luxury resort carefully designed to enhance the beauty of the native landscape and the surrounding natural setting of lagoons, jungles and one of the most expansive beaches in the area.  The resort touts a variety of luxury amenities, and is known for its culinary excellence, notion of wellbeing, cultural activities and its breathtaking suite accommodations.

This exquisite dinner will provide an exclusive setting for up to 90 guests, composed of a five-course menu, each paired with exceptional wines and spirits. The dinner will be preceded by a welcome cocktail where mixologists will prepare a variety of unique drinks with signature appetizers to delight guests.
