Sonia grew up in Mexico City and there she materialized her dream of becoming a chef when she was just 15, being accepted in the Intensive Baking and Pastry Program and later joining the Culinary Institute of America in New York to study a degree in gastronomy.
Being a talented student with a promising future, Sonia graduated with honors in the year of 1996, spending 6 more years in Manhattan perfecting her techniques in some of the best restaurants of NY, such as Daniel, Bouley and Danube.
Adventurous and with an unstoppable spirit, this young chef decided to become an an entrepreneur and open her first restaurant in2006.
Like many women, with a deep sense for fashion and luxury brands, Sonia managed to make a collection in 2010 called Jaso Wow Cakes & Crystallized Swarovski, a collection inspired in the fashion tendencies and season collections, giving her creations a chic touch with the delightful Swarovski crystals, which crowned her style and herself as one of the best pastry chefs of Mexico.
